How Does Family Mediation Work?

A family mediator, as a neutral third party, will assist family members with discussion and negotiation in areas of conflict within the family. Family mediation provides participants the opportunity to express differing views in a safe environment, ask questions, discuss all aspects of a conflict and explore solutions. The participants have control of the process, and the outcome is the creation of a mutually acceptable agreement addressing the family’s particular situation.
